loss of central vision. <\/p>\n<p>There is evidence suggesting that specific apheresis techniques significantly improve blood flow properties, thereby enhancing the supply of nutrients and oxygen to the eye and stimulating self-healing in the retina. <\/p>\n<p>The positive effect of apheresis in macular degeneration was demonstrated several years ago in a clinical study.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe results of ART provide further evidence that Rheopheresis is a safe and effective therapeutic option for high-risk patients with dry age related macula degeneration and no therapeutic alternative. Moreover, RheoNet currently provides the largest evaluation of the efficacy of rheopheresis for dry AMD. Registry analysis contributes to a safe and appropriate use of rheopheresis in clinical practice.\u201d<\/em><br \/>\n<small><a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/20609179\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Klingel et al.
