Apheresis Therapy for Lipid Metabolism and Autoimmune Disorders
For patients with genetically elevated blood lipid levels (hyperlipidemia), our specialized Apheresis Center offers two advanced blood purification treatments: whole blood adsorption and double-filtration plasmapheresis (DFPP apheresis).
These modern procedures selectively remove excess LDL cholesterol and lipoprotein(a) from the blood and can significantly reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Our center provides eight state-of-the-art apheresis stations, designed for comfort and safety. During your treatment, you will benefit from a relaxing environment, modern equipment, and attentive care. We also make sure that your comfort and well-being are looked after throughout your visit.
Apheresis for Neurological and Rheumatologic Diseases
Therapeutic apheresis is not limited to lipid disorders – it is also an established treatment option for neurological, autoimmune, and rheumatologic diseases, including:
- Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD)
- Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP)
- Rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune connective tissue diseases
In many cases, apheresis therapy does not require hospitalization.
Depending on the diagnosis and medical stability, the procedure can be performed on an outpatient basis in our apheresis center.
